Summary of Meeting between Social Action Committee and Fr. Driscoll

Title

Summary of Meeting between Social Action Committee and Fr. Driscoll

Description

Summary of a meeting between Members of the Social Action Committe of the Faculty Senate and President, Rev. Driscoll on February 4, 1985. The meeting was called by the committee in order to discuss “the low percentage of minority students enrolled at Villanova, and equally important, the lack of minorities in the faculty ranks.” The summary notes that the Faculty Senate had previously adopted resolutions to address concerns in these matters but, “saw no evidence that any futher action had been taken…” Discussions of these matters included Villanova’s public image as “all white male,” and suggestions were made to correct issues of underrepresentation at Villanova.
