Included in the 1779 Baptismal Registers of St. Joseph's Catholic Church were the names of Sara Barry (John Barry's wife) and Judith, who is listed as "adulta, mancipium Capt. Joanis Barry" (Latin for "adult, slave of Captain John Barry").
A building on Villanova's campus is named for John Barry, and Barry's image is part of a mosaic in St. Mary's Hall on West Campus.
